So the title pretty much sums it all up but in case you can’t read my mind here’s what I really mean.
Recently I quit writing stories, poems, and political satire. I talked to Wyzz about writing again but nothing came of it at the time other than a few very dark and yet to be published blogs. SS had called me and asked if I’d been “working”. He was finishing up a Jazz project and was looking for a session guy with a different feel. I passed, my chops aren’t what they once were.
One night 4 months later around 3am in a fit of sobriety and celibacy (well at least for 4 hours or so) I picked up my guitar. A few hours later the cruel mistress that is music began taunting me. So I played a little more, 24 caprices came back quickly, Toca Allura felt like I never quit playing. So I plugged a mic in and cut a few demos of older tunes, just guitar and vocals. I sucked and wasn’t fit to sing at a local karaoke night or to play at a school talent show.
I dove into loops and collections, added a few typical Malflic type visual elements and came up with this.
At the moment I’m tired of playing with myself and am looking for someone else to play with me. All the while my chops improved and my voice started to sound like me again. I’ve even sat back down at the ivories and regained a bit of the old luster there as well. With that in mind instead of working with machines and programs exclusively I’ve decided to look up my old mates and see who is doing what. If you know me or have seen me stand on a stage over the years here’s the old cast that I know where they are
Wyzz and I’ve asked him to sing a bit and am confident he will.
Boner – I’ve begged to play a little drums on a few tunes for old time’s sake. In the mean time I’m working digitally and doing a bit of that myself. After all the newer technology just can’t seem to fit my usual groove based stuff as well as he does.
SS – I’ve asked to produce and play. Odds are I’ll cut several tracks at his studio in the future but not on this project.
Dusty isn’t well and hasn’t played in 15 years so his participation is unlikely. He hasn’t returned my calls and his wife hates me so oh well
I’m told E is still doing time and way to fucked up to do anything in the short time spans when he gets out. A wasted life.
A little know fact is Brianna is my sister and to quote spinal tap “we shan’t work together again”
Cee is a college professor and doesn’t have a rig but does have a wife and kid. Funny how that happens.
So with those ones accounted for if anyone from the old days knows where these folks are and if they still play let me know in particular. Stacy, Ginger OxBlood, Fitz, and Billy. Finally Yes I know Steph is still taking nude photos and yes even as she enters cougar town she is as damn hot as she was at 18. What can I say I was the first guy she posed with and am proud of that fact.

And most dangerous of all I’ve got the time and the money so keeping true to my word that if I ever played again I would call the project “Fuck with the Devil”

Ashen- which was the first new song in nearly 5 years
Only the Fallen – probably will be an all acoustic final product that dares you to understand the real meaning.

I’ve laid demo tracks for a remake of “Nothing Like They Said” both guitar and an Electronica driven version. There will be a video for each song but there is no intention to play live however I’ve learned to never say never. If it happens break out the black boots, fetish wear, and leather pants. Also it might be a good idea to have a lawyer on speed dial because if it happens…the morality police might arrive.
